"There is rain around."

JOE DARCY
The Cliffs of Moher soar under a moody sky, anchoring Ireland to the edge of the Atlantic. The Cliffs are Ireland's most visited natural attraction.

MEET ROBIN
Robin is a retired teacher from Ohio. This is her first Rick Steves Tour which she booked with her teaching buddy Ellyn.

My favorite part of the Rick Steves Ireland Tour . . .
This tour was my first with Rick Steves and I could not have been more impressed. Joe, our guide, was awesome, knowledgeable, and fun. All of the fellow travelers were enjoyable and easy to get to know. Ireland was gorgeous! How does one pick a favorite part of this trip when there are so many choices? Of course all the scenery was everything and more than I ever dreamed and heard about. I have to say, I really enjoyed the sheep farm. From the trainer giving commands to his obedient dog, the sheep running into their pen, to the shearing of the wool. I was completely enthralled with the whole process.

My #1 Best Tavel Tip . . .The best travel tip came from you! Bring an extra bag to pack souvenirs and check your dirty clothes. I will always do that for any upcoming trips. 🙏😊

Tour Day 8.
Cliffs of Moher and
the Burren

PHRASE OF THE DAY | you'll be glad to know this handy phrase at happy half-hour!

Sláinte | cheers!

MAY THE ROAD RISE UP TO MEET YOU

KNACKERED OUT | Victoria Hotel Galway (one night)

TUCK IN
  • McSwiggans Restaurant: "The Eating and Drinking Place"
  • Joe Watty's Bar, Aran Islands
  • The Dough Bros. Woodfired Pizza - if you're going to eat pizza in Ireland, then make it award winning, Neapolitan-style pies with the best ingredients, like local Irish Mozzarella, Galway Honey and all kinds of yumminess.

CRACK ON
  • Cliffs of Moher (Aillte an Mhothair)
  • Burren National Park (Páirc Náisiúnta Boirne) literally means "Rocky Place". We enjoyed a fantastic guided walk by local Mary Howard.
  • Aran Islands (Oileán Árann): Inishmore Minivan Island Tour
  • Aran Island Sweater Market: HERE is an interesting history of their famous sweaters, and some beautiful heritage footage of the islands on the "edge of the world".
  • Dun Aengus Fort (Dún Aonghasa) - Check out this short, stunning aerial footage of the 2000 year old fort perched on the fringe of the North Atlantic.
  • All Ireland Gaelic Football Championship Semi-Final Match: Dublin vs. Mayo. We cheered with Joe in the hotel bar . . . of course, we "supported" Dublin (just like Dublin-born Joe).

Tour Day 9. Galway and
the Aran Islands

PHRASE OF THE DAY if you know this gem, you'll probably be able to accurately forecast the weather at least once every day!

Tá sé ag cur báistí | it is raining
